TriMet eyes service changes to close budget gap
advertisement
On Sept. 5, the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) will institute changes to MAX light-rail and bus services to help close a $27 million gap in the fiscal-year 2011 budget. The service cuts will impact all MAX lines, according to TriMet.
In addition, most fares will increase 5 cents on Sept. 1. MAX start and end times, as well as midday and rush-hour service, will remain the same. The agency will reduce headway frequencies by about two minutes on all lines evenings and weekends from 15 minutes to 17 minutes. In the early mornings and late evenings, schedules would be adjusted by about four minutes.
