TriMet opens WES commuter-rail line

Today, the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) will launch regular service on the state's first commuter-rail line.
On Friday, the agency held an opening ceremony for the WES (Westside Express Service) line, a 14.7-mile, five-station suburb-to-suburb commuter-rail service between Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin and Wilsonville. Trains will operate every 30 minutes during weekday rush hours.
