The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) posted double-digit increases in ridership on its MAX Green Line light-rail and WES commuter-rail services in December.
While all of TriMet’s categories posted ridership increases last month compared with the same period a year ago, the highest gains included MAX Green Line weekday trips, which rose 12.4 percent to 21,700, and WES weekday/rush-hour trips, which shot up 22.9 percent to 1,450, agency officials said in a prepared statement.
During December, a total 7.8 million trips were taken on trains and buses, up 1 percent compared with December 2010.
