TriMet proposes September fare increase

advertisement

Tomorrow, the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon will vote on a proposed fare increase to help offset increased diesel and other costs. The proceeds also will be used to restore service on the MAX Blue Line and 10 bus routes.

The agency has proposed raising adult base fares by 5 cents and monthly passes by $4. Youth monthly passes would increase by $1. All other fixed-route cash fares would remain the same.

If approved, the fare increase would take effect Sept. 1.
