Later this month, the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) will hold two open houses to review and obtain public feedback on the Portland-to-Milwaukie light-rail project.
To be completed in 2015, the 7.3-mile light-rail line would run between Portland State University in downtown Portland, Milwaukie and north Clackamas County. By 2030, the line is expected to register up to 27,400 weekday rides.
Next month, TriMet plans to complete preliminary engineering of trackway, stations and a multi-use transit bridge. Final design is expected to begin in fall.
