TriMet steps up security
advertisement
Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) is putting its foot down on disruptive behavior.
The agency recently outlined a new security initiative designed to reinforce safety by adding security personnel and increasing fare-evasion penalties.
TriMet’s board is considering an ordinance to increase the fare evasion penalty from $77 to $250, and the exclusion period from a maximum of three months to six. If approved, new penalties would go into effect April 25.
