TriMet to increase fares, add light-rail service
advertisement
In September, the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) plans to increase some fares and add trips to the MAX Blue Line light-rail service to relieve crowding.
Effective Thursday, adult all-zone and two-zone fares will increase by 5 cents, in addition to increases to other passes. The fare hikes will help offset increasing costs, TriMet officials said in a prepared statement.
On Sept. 4, TriMet will implement seasonal service changes to “improve service reliability, relieve passenger crowding and match capacity with demand,” including service on the MAX Blue Line, they said.
