The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon’s (TriMet) ridership in fiscal-year 2011 reached the 100 million mark for the second time in its history.

Total ridership on TriMet’s WES, MAX and bus services inched up 0.7 percent to 100,002,700, TriMet officials said in a prepared statement. The last time ridership reached the 100 million mark was in FY2009. Annual ridership on the WES service climbed 21.2 percent to 370,800 trips and rose 7.5 percent to 41.2 million trips on the MAX.

For the month of June, ridership totaled 8.7 million trips, up 2.2 percent from June 2010’s mark.
