Metro Transit’s Hiawatha light rail, Northstar commuter rail and bus services will continue to operate at current levels if a Minnesota government shutdown begins July 1, Metro Transit officials said in a prepared statement.
“While we cannot continue service indefinitely without state funding, we can — using customer fares and reserve funds — operate for a period of time,” they said.
The Metropolitan Council, which oversees Metro Transit, also will continue to operate Metro Mobility, Transit Link dial-a-ride service and other contracted transit services, officials said.
