advertisement
United Kingdom-based Porterbrook Leasing Co. Ltd. Feb. 12 ordered 25 double-deck cars from Bombardier Transportation for $31.4 million. Porterbrook plans to lease the cars to the Danish State Railways, which would use the equipment primarily between Copenhagen and Lolland-Falster, and Copenhagen and southern Seeland.
Bombardier plans to manufacture the cars at its Gorlitz, Germany, plant. The order specifies that 20 cars be intermediate coaches; the remaining five, cab-cars. The vehicles are slated to replace existing cars, as well as accommodate increasing ridership.
Deliveries are scheduled to take place between November and December 2002.
