• Alstom, Transmashholding and Kazakh Railways signed an agreement creating a joint venture to produce electric locomotives in Kazakhstan. The locomotives will feature technology developed by Alstom and Transmashholding, as well as components from the French-Russian consortium and from Alstom’s Belfort, France, factory. Gradually, production of components will shift to Kazakhstan. Under the agreement, the locomotives produced by the joint venture will first go to Kazakh Railways. Once the railways’ needs are fulfilled, the locomotives can be exported to other countries.

• Siemens Mobility has supplied the ATC Trainguard MT Communication-Based Train Control system to ViaQuatro, the operator of Line 4 of the São Paulo Metro system. The 7.9-mile line is the first fully automated, driverless metro system in Latin America, according to Siemens.

• Industrial services provider MISCOR Group Ltd. named Michael Moore president and chief executive officer of MISCOR Group, and president of subsidiaries Magnetech Industrial Services Inc. and HK Engine Components L.L.C. Moore succeeds John Martell, who will serve as chairman. Previously, Moore was president of Emerald Performance Materials.

• Interfleet Technology has adopted GT Software’s Ivory Service Architect for new business solutions offered by Interfleet’s Swedish operation. Ivory is designed to integrate mainframe assets leveraging companies’ investments in applications and data, according to GT Software.

• NOMAD Digital Ltd. has been contracted by train builder Talgo to deliver and operate a wireless broadband and live passenger information system on all Talgo trainsets servicing a cross-border route from Vancouver, British Columbia, through Seattle, Portland and Eugene, Ore.
