• Ansaldo STS is part of a "temporary consortium" that has received a seven-year, $1.9 billion framework contract from Italy's Ferservizi to manage the data processing infrastructure, and software application and call-center development for rail operator Ferrovie dello Stato, according to a prepared statement. For its part in the five-company consortium, Ansaldo STS will manage and develop applications for traffic control and public information systems.

• Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) named Steve Noonan assistant vice president in the firm's Newark, N.J., office. He'll manage PB's Northeast Rail Vehicle Group. Noonan — who has more than 30 years of experience in rail vehicle and rail systems-based engineering, maintenance management and operating system oversight — most recently was director-U.S. operations for Interfleet Technology and an associate principal with Lea+Elliott Inc.

• Professional Transportation Inc. promoted Steve Greulich to director of human resources. He joined the crew transportation services company as a human resources manager in 2007.
