Yesterday, the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) received the first shipment of rail from L.B. Foster Co. for the FrontRunner commuter-rail line, which will run 44 miles between Weber County and Salt Lake City.

L.B. Foster and subsidiary CXT Inc. are supplying 11,000 tons of steel rail and 110,000 concrete ties to the authority. Most of the rail has been manufactured from recycled automobiles and other salvaged materials.
