VIA Rail Canada Inc. and Air Transat recently partnered to streamline their service schedules so passengers more easily can travel between their home, airport and vacation destination.

The streamlining effort aims to encourage travelers to purchase tickets combining air and rail transportation, so passengers can book their international flight along with a train ticket that will connect them to the airport.

The partnership is the latest in a series of measures VIA Rail has taken to modernize its service offerings. The intercity passenger-rail provider has partnered with Montreal’s Agence métropolitaine de transport and Toronto’s GO Transit, as well as three motor coach transportation companies operating in western Canada, Toronto and the Maritimes region. VIA Rail also has signed a partnership agreement with Amtrak.
