VIA Rail to upgrade track between Ottawa, Montreal

VIA Rail Canada Inc. recently purchased $3 million worth of new steel rail from Canadian Rail Track Materials.
The railroad will install the track near Alexandria, Ontario, between Ottawa and Montreal, during the next few months. Once the project is complete, VIA Rail will be able to provide a smoother ride and faster trip times, according to the agency.
