Valley Metro slates meetings on west Phoenix transit options

Later this month, Valley Metro will host two informational meetings to update the public on a study exploring transit options between west Phoenix and Glendale, Ariz.

Known as the West Phoenix/Central Glendale Transit Corridor Study, the analysis will determine a route location and type of transit that will best serve the area from 19th Avenue in Phoenix to downtown Glendale. Project planners will decide whether to extend the existing light-rail system or implement bus rapid transit, agency officials said in a press release.

At each meeting, Valley Metro staff will present an overview of the recommended route and transit type for the corridor. The meetings are scheduled for Jan. 19 and 20.
