TransLink riders and other local residents support transit expansion and improvement as a top priority in Vancouver, British Columbia, according to a public engagement report the agency released yesterday.
Following a four-month outreach campaign, the report logged 4,000 submitted improvement ideas and 31,700 responses to the agency’s 30-year regional transportation strategy for metro Vancouver.
Among the top three priorities for Vancouver, expanding and improving the transit system ranked first. Road congestion was one of respondents' top concerns.
The most frequently submitted transit improvement idea was to expand transit access to the Fraser Valley region near Vancouver.
TransLink will solicit more public input on its Transport 2050 plan in spring 2020.
