Vancouver's Canada Line to open by September
advertisement
British Columbia officials recently announced that the Vancouver-to-Richmond, B.C., Canada Line will open by Labor Day, about three months earlier than originally expected.
The fully automated, 11.8-mile light-rail line will provide visitors another transportation option during the 2010 Winter Olympics. Canada Line Rapid Transit Inc., a subsidiary of the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority (TransLink), will operate the $2 billion line. Other project partners include the Government of Canada, province of British Columbia and Vancouver Airport Authority.
TransLink currently is testing trains on the line.
