The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) has scheduled three public hearings in June to gather feedback about transit needs and opportunities throughout the Greater Richmond area. The outreach is part of the Greater RVA Transit Vision Plan, which was established to identify key issues and challenges facing the long-range vision for public transportation in the region, DRPT officials said in a press release. A study team will use current transit and demographic data, land use data and plans, transit and population forecasts, public opinion surveys and stakeholder input to create and present the regional transit plan to stakeholders and the public. The plan will be used to guide transit development in the region through 2040.The meetings will be held June 7, 9 and 13.
