WMATA, CTA redesign Web sites
advertisement
Today, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority will unveil a redesigned Web site featuring streamlined content and easier-to-use navigation tools.
After logging onto www.metroopensdoors.com, users will be able to find what they're looking for in three clicks or less, according to the authority. The most popular features — including the Trip Planner and service disruption information — are located on the home page and feature improved interactivity. The home page also includes a rotating headline and graphic at the center of the page highlighting the day's important topics.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) plans to launch a redesigned Web site later this month. The site will be easier to navigate and provide faster access to the most frequently used tools and most viewed data, such as trip planning information, schedules, and CTA projects and plans.
The site also will provide urgent service information and offer a new rail and bus service status tool, search field, quick links to the most frequently referenced materials, content geared toward mobile Web users, multilingual content and RSS feeds.
