advertisement
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Sept. 19 awarded joint venture Clark-Kiewit Largo a $92 million contract to construct stations and parking facilities related to the Blue Line extension to Largo, Md.
The project calls for two station facilities, "new look" station platform and mezzanine canopies, 30-foot wide platforms (compared with existing 28-foot platforms), and escalators.
The contract is the third and final one awarded for the 3.1 mile, $434 million segment — the first extension to be added to the 103-mile system since December 1984.
