Rail News: Passenger Rail
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is partnering with Chevy Chase Bank to install automated teller machines (ATM) system-wide.
By summer’s end, the authority plans to install ATMs at 25 stations. Additional machines will be installed at high-traffic stations in the fall.
The authority will use revenue generated from the ATMs to purchase bomb-resistant trash cans for Metrorail station platforms and implement a remote-monitoring system for passenger information display monitors.
