WMATA to introduce voice-activated Ride Guide
advertisement
On Nov. 18, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority plans to make trip-scheduling easier by offering a voice-activated Ride Guide available via WMATA’s phone system.
Similar to the Ride Guide currently accessible on the agency’s Web site, the voice-activated version is available 24/7 and provides walking instruction plus trip information for Metrobus, Metrorail, or a combination of both from origin to destination. The guide also provides departure and arrival times, as well as trip cost.
The voice-activation feature is available from any telephone — touch-tone, rotary, public pay phone, private, or cell. The caller may still access a live agent, if preferred.
