advertisement
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is expanding its car-sharing program to 11 Metrorail stations, increasing the total number of stations with car-sharing services to 66.
The authority exercised a third-year contract option with Flexcar, which has been offering car rental services at or near WMATA stations during the past two years. WMATA also contracted car-sharing company Zipcar to provide rental services at some stations.
By January’s end, Flexcar will rent cars at five additional stations. Zipcar will rent cars at six stations; by year end, the company expects to provide rental services at nine more stations.
