Washington Group to manage Mission Valley East Trolley Extension construction
advertisement
Metropolitan Transit Development Board of San Diego Oct. 4 awarded Washington Group International Inc.’s Infrastructure Services unit a $16.7 million construction management contract for the 5.9-mile Mission Valley East Trolley Extension project.
The Mission Valley East Line would extend the existing light-rail line from Mission San Diego Station just east of Qualcomm Stadium to a junction with the system’s Orange Line east of Baltimore Drive in La Mesa. Plans call for the line to cross Interstate 8 over a 4,000-foot span, tunnel to an underground station at San Diego State University, then cross Interstate 8 again in La Mesa.
Construction already is under way and scheduled to conclude in December 2004.
