Rail News: Passenger Rail
Alaskan tourist railroad White Pass & Yukon Route (WP&YR) recently took delivery of the first two of eight new passenger cars.
The cars’ builder, Hamilton Mfg., previously built several cars for the railroad. After delivery is complete by May 15, WP&YR’s car fleet will increase to 69.
"The new passenger cars are a commitment by White Pass to its major customers and its confidence in the future of tourism in the north," said WP&YR President Gary Danielson in a prepared statement.
