• The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) board named Beverly Scott general manager. Currently GM of the Sacramento Regional Transit District, Scott will succeed MARTA GM Richard McCrillis, who will retire in 2008.
• Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) named Dorothy Dugger the agency’s eighth GM. Dugger, who had been deputy general manager, is the first woman to hold the top spot in BART’s 50-year history.

• Harsco Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Derek Hathaway will retire in April 2008 and Salvatore Fazzolari will become CEO Jan. 1. Currently president, CFO and treasurer, Fazzolari also is expected to be elected chairman after Hathaway departs.
• The Timken Co. appointed five executives to head business units within a new Bearings and Power Transmission Group: Michael Connors was named president of process industries; J. Ron Menning, president of aerospace and defense; Daniel Muller, president of distribution and services; Peter Sproson, VP of commercial transportation systems; and Kenneth Hopkins, VP of light vehicle systems.
• Ashcroft Inc. CEO John Mckenna was appointed operating officer of Nagano Keiki Co. Ltd., Ashcroft’s parent company.
• Thomas Group Inc. recently named John Nussrallah senior VP of transportation business.
• Modular Mining Systems Inc. named Dave Goddard global accounts manager, a newly created position.
• Safetran Systems Corp. appointed Clark Stelling GM of railroad sales to succeed John Midili, a 38-year rail supply industry veteran who will retire Nov. 2.
• Michael Menz was named account manager for GATX Corp.’s Eastern Sales Region.
• Carmanah Technologies Corp. appointed Roland Sartorius CFO.
