Job responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects at Railway Equipment Co. (RECO), including but not limited to operations, engineering and sales.
Career path: After college, started as a salesperson for KLK-USA (also known as Dwight & Wilson). After that, transitioned to Invensys Rail as an inside salesperson. After Siemens’ acquisition of Invensys Rail, moved up to business development manager for transit and then CSX account manager. After Siemens, transitioned to RECO, holding the strategic account manager position, VP of sales position and COO position.
How did you get into the railroad industry? I have wanted to be in this industry my whole life and follow in my grandfather’s and father’s footsteps.
What is the best career advice you have received? Never just bring me a problem. I need you to bring me the problem with the solution on how it can be resolved.
What advice would you give to a new railroader? This industry is not a 9-to-5 job; it is a way of living. Always be ready to work if needed since the railroad runs 24/7.
What was your very first job? Working in the deli at Publix.
Describe a fun fact about yourself. As much as I have a passion for rail, I have the same passion for history.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I enjoy fishing, boating and swimming with my family.
How has the pandemic changed your view of career and life in general? It confirmed how important the railroad is to the infrastructure and economy of this country.
