TRE names Sklannik COO

Trinity Railway Express (TRE) recently named Peter Sklannik chief operating officer.
He will be responsible for overseeing and supervising day-to-day operations, including the development of train schedules and equipment utilization plans. Sklannik also will help develop strategies for marketing TRE service and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Sklannik most recently served as COO of Virginia Railway Express (VRE), where he developed and implemented programs, spearheaded short- and long-term planning, and created a 20-year growth plan. During his VRE tenure, ridership doubled from 7,500 daily passenger trips in 2000 to more than 15,000 daily passenger trips in 2003.
Prior to VRE, Sklannik served MTA Long Island Rail Road for 10 years in a variety of positions, including director of market development.
A commuter-rail service linking downtown Dallas and Fort Worth, Tex., TRE is jointly operated by the Fort Worth Transportation Authority and Dalas Area Rapid Transit.
