The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) recently named Tim Garling to the newly created position of director of system safety and security. He will be responsible enhancing the agency’s security policies, procedures and training programs.
Most recently manager of field operations, Garling — who has more than 20 years’ transit industry experience — began working at TriMet in 1997. He previously served in various positions at MTA New York City Transit, including transportation superintendent for one subway line.
