NS: Dimino to assume VP-audit and compliance post; Carter to retire

Norfolk Southern Corp. has appointed Joseph Dimino vice president of audit and compliance to assume the duties of VP of Internal Audit James Carter Jr., who will retire Feb. 1.
Dimino, who will report to Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Wick Moorman, most recently served as VP of compliance. Since joining NS in 1976 as an attorney, Dimino has held senior general counsel, VP and corporate counsel posts.
Carter is ending a 34-year railroad career. He joined NS in 1973 and since has served in a number of accounting and internal audit positions.
