Kansas City Southern recently promoted three executives.

The company promoted Jeff Crandall from assistant vice president of international engineering to VP of transportation for The Kansas City Southern Railway Co. He joined KCS last year to lead the planning and scheduling areas of the railroad’s engineering department. Crandall previously held various engineering, mechanical and transportation positions at Union Pacific Railroad.

KCS also promoted Carl Harrison from AVP of technology and business solutions to VP of information technology and telecommunications. Prior to joining KCS in 2003, he held various management positions at Exxon, BNSF Railway Co., DST, H&R Block and Sprint PCS.

Finally, KCS promoted James Koelper from director of telecommunications to AVP of telecommunications. He has served KCS the past eight years. During the 1997 privatization of Mexico’s railroads, Koelper served as a consultant in efforts to modernize the telecommunications infrastructure of the former TFM S.A. de C.V.
