Yesterday, the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) announced it appointed Jolene Molitoris chairperson.

Former Federal Railroad Administrator under President Bill Clinton, Molitoris also has served as executive director of the Ohio Rail Transportation Authority and deputy director of rail for the Ohio Department of Transportation. She will succeed the retiring James Betts, a former Ohio legislator who became ORDC’s first chair in 1995.

ORDC operates as a division within the Ohio Department of Transportation and is responsible for economic development through the improvement and expansion of passenger- and freight-rail service, grade crossing safety, and rail travel and tourism issues.
