PANYNJ approves Foye as executive director; TriMet names labor relations, HR exec

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s (PANYNJ) board has confirmed Patrick Foye as the agency’s new executive director.

Foye, who was recommended to the post by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, will succeed Christopher Ward, who will depart at the end of the month. Ward will continue to serve as an adviser to PANYNJ through year’s end, agency officials said inn a prepared statement. Foye most recently was Cuomo’s deputy secretary of economic development.

In addition, PANYNJ’s board approved the following actions:

• Authorization of the first phase of a project calling for certain early-action pre-construction work associated with the future development of an intermodal container transfer facility at the Greenville Yard-Ort Authority Marine Terminal.

• Authorization of a $3.7 million project calling for for the design, construction and installation of the Newark tailtrack air compressor system to serve Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) signal and switching operations in Newark, N.J.

• Authorization of a purchase and sale agreement for a 2.1-acre lot for the future redevelopment of the Harrison PATH Station.

• Authorization of a $4.8 million project calling for building demolition to make room for the Harrison PATH station redevelopment.

Meanwhile, the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) has named Randy Stedman executive director of labor relations and human resources. He previously was a founding principal and chief negotiator for multiple labor contracts for the Workplace Practices Group in Lake Oswego, Ore.
