Friends and business associates of Patsy Crisafi issued the following obituary yesterday:

"It is with deep sadness that we share the loss of our friend and business associate, Patsy Crisafi. Patsy John Crisafi of St Augustine, Fla., formerly of Connellsville, Pa., was born Jan. 11, 1964, and has left us much too soon on Oct. 3, 2012."

"Patsy was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, Patsy Crisafi, and mother, Catherine Crisafi, both of Connellsville, Pa. Patsy grew up in Connellsville and graduated from Connellsville Area High School in 1981."

"He was loved and will be sadly missed by his fiancée, Jackie Carter, and her son, Adam, as well as Patsy's sister, Lisa (Crisafi) Nudo, her husband, Kenneth, and nephew, Devin Nudo."

"Patsy was a respected businessman and entrepreneur. Following a successful 18-year career with CSX Transportation which included stops in Connellsville, Atlanta and Jacksonville, Fla., he left to pursue other business interests in the railroad industry. Patsy accepted a position as executive vice president of Utilco Co. in Tifton, Ga. He was later the co-founder, principle, and executive vice president of Roadway Worker Training Inc. (RWT), a successful railroad industry consulting, training and support company."

"His special railroad expertise was railroad operating rules, safety and technical training, and the development and implementation of railroad safety policies. Among his other business interests were: Railroad Protective Services Inc. (RPS), founder and president; C&C RWT L.L.C., co-founder and partner; Crisafi-Maloy Development Inc.; Crisafi Services Inc.; National Pike Properties L.L.C.; VHMC L.L.C.; and Gandy Air L.L.C."

"PJ was a longtime member of St Rita's Roman Catholic Church, The Elks Lodge, and a member of NRC and AREMA. He was also a long-term sponsor and active supporter of Big Brothers & Sisters of America, a member of the hunting group Sugar Bottom in Montgomery, Ala., and a willing and generous contributor to many veterans' and children's causes."

"Patsy loved and lived for his family and legions of friends. Among his many joys were his dogs, airplanes, motorcycles, hunting, cars, flying, offshore fishing, diving, boating, cooking and entertaining, and his passion for his work."

Crisafi's family also announced the following services: Visitation Oct. 10 and 11 at Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, PA 15425, 724-628-1430. Visitation will be held Oct. 10 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Oct. 11 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
