Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (GWI) has named Greg Pauline managing director of Genesee & Wyoming Australia Pty Ltd. (GWA). He succeeds Bert Easthope, who led GWI's Australian business the past eight years and now will transition to a strategic development role.

Pauline has held senior positions at three major Australian corporations for 25 years, including 11 years at Transfield, seven years at Downer EDI and a combined seven years at Lend Lease Group, where he most recently was executive director of development and corporate affairs for the infrastructure services business. He has worked in Indonesia, Malaysia and India, including a stint as chief executive officer of a joint venture between Leighton International and Thiess Pty Ltd., and managing director for Bilfinger Berger India.

"[Pauline] has a wide-ranging background in business management and development, and has led a number of major infrastructure initiatives in his career," said GWI President and CEO Jack Hellmann in a prepared statement.

GWA operates about 3,100 miles of track in South Australia and the Northern Territory, including the 1,360-mile Tarcoola-to-Darwin line that links the Port of Darwin to the interstate rail network in South Australia. GWI owns and operates 111 railroads worldwide, including 108 in North America.
