Yesterday, Diane DuBois became the new chairwoman of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (LACMTA) board.A member of the Lakewood, Calif., City Council, she succeeds L.A. County Supervisor Michael Antonovich."We will concentrate on continuing to design and implement Measure R projects and grow the transportation opportunities in Los Angeles County for accessibility to all corners of the region," DuBois said in a press release.She was elected to the LACMTA's board in 2009, where she represents the 28 cities of southeast L.A. County collectively known as the Gateway Cities Council of Governments. DuBois also serves on LACMTA's Executive Management and Audit Committee, and the Planning and Programing Committee.She was elected to the Lakewood City Council in 2005, and served as mayor in 2008 and 2012.
