RailAmerica elevates three execs' rank

On Jan. 20, RailAmerica Inc. announced it promoted three executives. Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Michael Howe, was named executive vice president and CFO; Vice President of Corporate Development Matthew Devine, SVP of corporate development; and Associate General Counsel Daniel Hershman, VP-litigation counsel.

Howe has more than 30 year's experience in finance, operations and systems management. Before joining RailAmerica in 2000, he served SurfAir Inc. as VP and CFO. Howe also served CSX Corp. in several senior-management positions, including CFO for CSX Logistics Information Services and senior director for CSX Commercial Services.

Prior to joining RailAmerica in 2001, Devine served Schneider Logistics Inc. as VP and treasurer, Crowley American Transport as controller, and Crowley Maritime Corp. as director of financial analysis and business solutions. He previously served CSX for nine years in various finance positions.

Hershman also joined RailAmerica in 2001. He previously served W.R. Grace & Co. as senior litigation counsel and has more than 22 years' legal experience.
