The Dallas City Council recently appointed Michelle Wong Krause to serve on Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART) board, the agency announced Tuesday.

Wong Krause is an attorney in private practice in Dallas. Previously, she served as an associate hearing officer before becoming an associate municipal judge in 2006. She succeeds William Tsao, who served on the agency's board since 2007, DART officials said in a press release.

Meanwhile, California Assembly Speaker John Pérez last week appointed Thea Selby to the California High-Speed Rail Authority's (CHSRA) board to succeed Tom Umberg.

Selby is a principal at Next Steps Marketing in the San Francisco Bay area. She also serves as an executive committee and board member with the San Francisco Transit Riders Union, and is an advisory board member of Californians for High-Speed Rail.
