Newly elected U.S. Rep. David Jolly (R-Fla.) has been appointed to the House Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Committee, House officials announced yesterday.The congressman, who was elected to his post in a special election held two weeks ago, was named to the T&I's Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee and Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee, according to a press release issued by Jolly's office."Congressman Jolly understands the important link between efficient, effective infrastructure and our nation’s economy and competitiveness," said T&I Chairman Bill Shuster (R-Pa.). "I am confident he will be an asset to our committee, as we seek to strengthen our transportation network and our nation’s position in the global market."
