The deadline for Progressive Railroading's "Rising Stars" awards program for 2015 is Feb. 16.
Progressive Railroading defines a "Rising Star" as someone under the age of 40 who has made, or is making, a positive impact on his or her company, organization, department or team, and is viewed by others — peers, colleagues, supervisors, clients, associates — as an up-and-comer in the rail industry.
Progressive Railroading will select 20 Rising Stars for 2015, who will be recognized at a celebration dinner to be held July 19. The magazine will publish the Stars' profiles in its September 2015 edition. Nominees must be younger than 40 years of age on Sept. 1, 2015, and currently work in North America's railroad industry.
To be considered for Rising Star recognition, candidates must be willing to participate in the award process, answer questions from Progressive Railroading staff and supply a photo for publication. Candidates will be considered for recognition based on various qualities, including their contributions to railroading; career achievements; demonstrated leadership; education and/or professional training; and professional association activity or community involvement.
To nominate someone for a Rising Star Award, fill out the nomination form and provide information about the nominee's qualifications and accomplishments. Also provide a written statement explaining how the nominee is making a positive difference in the railroad industry. Again, the nomination deadline is now Feb. 16.
