Brad Swanson has been appointed state freight and logistics administrator for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the department announced this week.Swanson has more than 12 years of experience working with multimodal programs in Florida, serving most recently as vice president of corporate and strategic partnerships at the Florida Chamber of Commerce. He also worked with the state's Senate and House leadership on key legislative issues, said Richard Biter, FDOT's assistant secretary of intermodal systems development, in a press release.Additionally, Swanson advocated on behalf of Enterprise Florida incentives and worked in support of FDOT's Strategic Intermodal Systems program."He has worked with executives and organizations across all modes to promote efficiencies in trade infrastructure helping Florida's competitiveness on the global market," Biter said.In his new role at FDOT, Swanson will manage and direct the transportation modal programs for seaport and waterways, rail and motor carrier, transit, aviation and spaceports, and freight.
