Luther Miller, longtime editor-in-chief of Railway Age, died March 8. He was 89.

He joined the magazine in 1958 from The Institute for Railway Progress in Washington, D.C., and was named chief editor in 1966.

Miller served in that role until 2000, when he became senior consulting editor. During his time at the magazine, he co-founded International Railway Journal with former Railway Age Publisher Robert Lewis.

In May 2015, Miller retired from his post as senior consulting editor.
