Kansas City Southern de Mexico S.A. de C.V. President and General Manager Jose Zozaya last week was sworn in as the chairman of the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce's (USMCOC) binational board.

Zozaya's swearing in occurred during the USMCOC's annual meeting, BiNational Conference and Good Neighbor Awards 2016 event held May 24-25 in Washington, D.C., according to an announcement posted on Kansas City Southern's website.

During the event, Zozaya also served as moderator for a panel discussion on supply chain, logistics, transportation and infrastructure. KCS was an event sponsor.

The USMCOC works to build mutually beneficial trade and investment relationships in the Americas by helping overcome differences in legal, regulatory and economic matters as well as language and cultural differences.

Zozaya's appointment comes at a pivotal time for U.S.-Mexico relations, as the U.S. presidential election and the rise of an on-demand economy signal new challenges and opportunities for bilateral relations, according to the KCS announcement.
