Reading & Northern Railroad has promoted three veteran employees to vice president positions, the company announced yesterday.

Erik Yoder, Justin Levan and Matthew Johnson have received new appointments as vice presidents.

Yoder has been named VP of maintenance of way. He succeeds Levan, who has been promoted to VP of special projects. Johnson has been promoted to VP of asset management and community affairs, according to a Reading & Northern press release.

Chief Executive Officer Andy Muller Jr. attributed the personnel moves to the company's growth and evolving business.

"Business is up and in 2016 we have acquired the Humboldt Industrial Park and the Locust Valley Line," Muller said. "As we adapt to our new business and increased infrastructure we recognized that we needed to better align our resources."

Yoder joined the railroad in September 2011 as MOW administrator. He was promoted to AVP-MOW in August 2013. He transferred to AVP-operations in October 2014 to learn more about the railroad, then returned to AVP-MOW in May 2015.

Johnson joined Reading & Northern in January 2005 as police consultant. He was named AVP of asset management/lieutenant in February 2013, and was promoted to senior AVP of asset management/lieutenant in February 2016.

Levan started at the railroad in January 2004 as an equipment operator in the MOW department. He was promoted to AVP of cost control and MOW in September 2012. In December 2013, he was named VP of MOW.
