New Jersey Transit's board has appointed William Viqueira chief financial officer and treasurer.Viqueira has more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, including a decade as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch. He also worked at Lucent Technologies, where he served as treasurer and head of mergers and acquisitions.Meanwhile, the agency's board named Jacqueline Stamford deputy treasurer. She began her career at NJ Transit in 1995 as a senior financial analyst.Stamford's later roles at the agency included manager of investments and analysis, director of treasury operations and investment analysis, and acting senior director of corporate cash management. "I look forward to working closely with Bill and Jackie to develop and improve our customer-focused business processes," said NJ Transit Executive Director Kevin Corbett.Michael Lihvarcik, who serves as NJ Transit's interim CFO and treasurer, is retiring at the end of the month.
