The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) has appointed Michelle Bloomer vice president of operations.

She will be responsible for directing, developing and organizing transit operations and maintenance services for the agency's commuter-rail and bus systems. DCTA operates the 21-mile A-train commuter-rail service between Denton and Dallas counties.

Bloomer most recently served as DCTA's assistant VP of bus operations and maintenance.

"Michelle brings a wealth of transit knowledge and experience to this position, and we look forward to utilizing her expertise which will help us in our goals of changing the way we do business to better serve our many communities," said DCTA Chief Executive Officer Raymond Suarez in a press release.

Bloomer also has served on the Public Transportation Advisory Committee, which is tasked with advising the Texas Transportation Commission on the needs of the state's public transit providers.
