The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) last week named Rhonda Allen the agency’s first chief customer experience officer.
In this new role, Allen will serve as MARTA’s “internal customer advocate” responsible for establishing the agency’s inaugural Riders’ Advisory Council, MARTA officials said in a press release.
The council will be made up of 25 transit riders from diverse backgrounds who live or work in one of MARTA’s four metro Atlanta jurisdictions. In May, the council will begin holding monthly meetings on topics such as rail-car design, service delivery, rail station amenities, rider communication and the impact MARTA rehabilitation and expansion projects have on riders.
Riders’ Advisory Council members will be selected in March.
Allen has worked at MARTA for 20 years with all departments. Most recently, she coordinated and implemented the agency’s plans for Super Bowl LIII, which was held last year at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
