Last week, Union Pacific Railroad named Director of Government Affairs Scott Moore general manager of public partnerships, responsible for managing and expanding the Class I's relationship with governmental and other public agencies. He will report to the Office of the Chairman comprising Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dick Davidson, Vice Chairman Ike Evans and President Jim Young.

Moore will work with various agency officials — including port authority executives — to identify and meet the transportation needs of communities located throughout the railroad's system, and negotiate transportation projects, UP officials said in a prepared statement.

Prior to joining UP in 2000 as government affairs director, Moore served Nebraska as secretary of state and a state senator.
