The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority’s (SCVTA) board earlier this month elected Glenn Hendricks as chair and Chappie Jones as vice chair.
Hendricks, the current vice chair, will assume board leadership next week. A SCVTA board member since 2016, Hendricks is the former mayor of Sunnyvale, California.
Hendricks could also be the first chairperson to serve a second year after the board also approved an additional one-year option for board leadership positions, SCVTA officials said in a press release.
Next month, the board will announce and seat nine new members, including alternates and one ex-officio member, to replace its outgoing board members. The outgoing members and alternates are: Jeannie Bruins, Larry Carr, Dave Cortese, Lan Diep, Liz Kniss, John McAlister, Howard Miller, Bob Nunez and Teresa O’Neill.
